The PN8601 casing is 13U high with a vertical plugboard structure. It supports 18 card slots with two slots for the main controllers at the No. 9 and 10 slots. 16 service slots are distributed at the No. 1~8 and No. 10~18 slots with the maximal capacity of 128 EPON interfaces. The slots for the fans are located at the top of the chassis, and the ventilation system dissipates heat using the induced draft method. The power supply slot, dust filtering plates and the cable management rack are located at the lower half of the cabinet.
